Part of the Elements collection from my Solo exhibition at Redbrick Mill

Initially taking inspiration from the hustle of a metropolitan city

just as the hidden knots in the old oak trees do

hence the title

Oak Burl Cushion The metal fragments have beenThe name of the cushion and corresponding artwork originates from the knots found in tree bark. The white strokes and hidden layers of vanilla and beige peek through, leading to the darker black markings which draw in the viewer, just as the hidden knots in the old oak trees do. The Oak Burl cushions create texture on their own, or they work beautifully when paired with the matching fine art canvas too, or work well against the other cushion designs
