Gettysburg Train Station 75th the men of the 17thCompleted in 1859 the Gettysburg Train Station served as the westernmost terminal for the Western Maryland Railroad; connecting Gettysburg to Hanover and other larger east coast cities. During the Battle of Gettysburg, July 1 3, 1863, it served as a field hospital for wounded Union and Confederate soldiers. After the Battle of Gettysburg, this historic train station accommodated thousands of wounded Union soldiers as they began their long journeys
